Design for Kinta
The products are introduced to the market under a new brand, Design for Kinta, using the existing Kinta production channels. This means using local craft traditions and raw materials that are sustainable sourced.
Mads Kjædegaards designs can be characterized as elegant and functional - with a twist. The designs are everyday objects designed to be handled and used regularly, aging with grace. The inspiration comes from many different sources - the two stools Ming and Kang are for instance inspired by Chinese vases; the nested bowls, Circle, the egg cup and the related salt cellar, Tower by geometrical forms; Biloba salad servers take their shape from the leaves of the ginkgo biloba tree.
